Delivery

Three ways for the item to reach the buyer. You pick.

Every listing offers one or more delivery methods, chosen by the selling guardian when approving the listing. Buyers see what’s on offer and pick at checkout.

A · Collection

Buyer travels to you

  • Free — no delivery fee at all
  • Postcode district shown; full address only after payment
  • Buyer taps Received at handover, or 72-hour auto-release
  • Best for bulky or local items (bikes, scooters, furniture)
B · Local delivery

You deliver, within a radius

  • Flat fee you set (default £2)
  • Radius: 3, 5, 10 or 20 miles
  • Only eligible buyers see it as an option
  • Buyer’s address revealed privately after payment
C · UK postage

Tracked, nationwide

  • Flat fee you set (covers your carrier cost)
  • Royal Mail, Evri, InPost, Yodel or DPD — tracked only
  • 5 business days to post, or the sale auto-cancels
  • 48-hour dispute window after “Delivered”

What the buyer sees

On a listing card the available methods appear as compact badges under the price. On checkout, the buyer picks one and the fee is added to their total — with Zibbo’s platform fee always calculated on the item price, never on delivery.

Tracking, postcodes and the fine print

Tracked postage only

We don’t allow untracked postage in v1 — it creates too many unresolvable “did it arrive?” disputes. You pick a carrier from our list, post within 5 business days, and enter the tracking number in the app. We poll the carrier every 6 hours until it shows “Delivered”.

Postcode & distance, not maps

We compute simple haversine distance between the buyer’s and seller’s postcode — not street-level mapping. Local delivery filters out buyers outside your chosen radius. If a buyer hasn’t added a postcode yet, they see “Add your postcode to see eligibility” and no address leaks.

Delivery fee is a pass through

Zibbo’s platform fee applies to the item price only. If a £15 scooter has a £2 local delivery fee, the buyer pays £17, Zibbo takes 5% of £15 (75p), and the sale clears £16.25 into your Stripe account: £14.25 for the scooter plus the full £2 for the drive.

Seller didn’t post in time?

If tracking isn’t entered within 5 business days, the sale auto-cancels, the buyer is refunded in full and the account picks up a strike. Three strikes and the account is temporarily suspended pending review.
